Please see the answers to some of our most common questions below.
Q: Where exacty are you located?
A: Zenphora Bodyworks is located within Image Studios, the suite number is 119. Entering the building from Highland Ave, you will not walk straight down the hallwaty that you see when you open the door. Instead, you will take a right and then a quick left down that hallway. Suite 119 is roughly half way down on your right hand side. You can't get lost, it's just one big square inside the building :).
Q: What if I have never had a massage before, what should I expect during my visit?
A: When you arrive, you will have an in depth conversation with your massage therapist to go over any concerns, problem areas, etc. The therapist will also give a more detailed description of the service and make sure you understand, and are okay with the therapist working on all areas. If you have any areas that you do not want touched for any reason, please let them know. Afterward, you will be instructed to undress to your level of comfort. After this, the therapist will leave the room to allow you to undress and get on the table under the sheet and blanket. When the therapist returns, the massage session will begin. During the session it is important to communicate your preferences with the therapist, if you need more or less pressure, decide you want to skip an area, or simply have a question, feel free to do do at any time - it is your massage. Once the session concludes, the massage therapist will again leave the room so you can get dressed. Feel free to get up slowly (you may be a bit dizzy) and take all the time you need getting dressed. Once you are ready, just pop open the door to let the therapist know.
Q: What does "undress to your level of comfort" really mean?
A: The vast majority of massage clients will either decide to be fully nude, or leave on only their underwear. This allows for the most unrestricted access and generally allows for a better experience. If you prefer to leave on other articles of clothing, you may do so, and you will still be able to receive a full massage. Your comfort is a top priority.
Q: What areas of my body will be massaged?
A: Nearly everything, the massage will include scalp, face, ears, neck & shoulders, upper chest area, arms, hands, back, sides glutes, legs and feet. You will be securely draped with a sheet and blanket and only the area being worked on will be exposed. You will always remain warm and will also feel safe and secure. You can decide at any point that you do not want a certain area worked on, and we can gladly skip it and spend more time on other areas you are comfortable with or simply prefer.
Q: Will the massage hurt?
A: No, and honestly a good massage should never hurt. The massage therapist will ensure that all muscle tissue being worked is adequately warmed up and prepared for deep work where requested or needed. You may experience mild discomfort when receiving deeper work in tight areas. This is normal. If at any time you find that the pressure is too much, just let the therapist know.
Q: Should I talk during the massage?
A: To get the most from your experience, it is suggested to keep talking to a minimum. This allows the therapist to truly focus, maintain correct speed and pressure, and provide the best possible experience.
Q: What do I do if I feel sore after a massage?
A: Sometimes deep massage can lead to soreness. It is important to drink plenty of water to hydrate after the session. You will want to take it easy, and get plently of rest. You can do some gentile stretching, or take a warm bath to help with sore areas. For a more focused approach you can also apply ice or heat as necessary.
Q: Can I use my HSA to pay for a massage?
